DSYM (Delhi Syro-Malabar Youth Movement)
DSYM (Delhi Syro-Malabar Catholic Youth Movement) is the Youth Apostolate of the Syro-Malabar Catholic Diocese of Faridabad (Delhi Syro-Malabar Mission). We are honoured and privileged to inform you that Delhi Syro-Malabar Mission (www.smmdelhi.com) is blessed with diverse youth who mainly belong to two categories: born and raised in Delhi and migrants from Kerala as job seekers. These youth who are really wise and prophesiers on whose shoulders lie the responsibility of heading ahead to renovate the World and consecrate the Church (1John 2:14). So the Mission has established DSYM with the mission ‘for the Church and Nation’.
DSYM is an unlimited platform for the youth to have an agile and active participation in all the activities. It is a place to fight against evils by being deep rooted in sanctity and morality, a place from where the moral voice which is the essence of hereditary faith and prayer is heard, a place where the agility and creativity of youth is upheld, a podium to youth, with youth, by youth, for the youth based on truth, peace, love, and justice derived from Christ to mould the youth as an impeccable human being. “Youth is not a problem to be solved but a resource to be considered.” Youth is the power and future of the Church and Nation. DSYM empowers Youth by developing their potentials and making them effective agents of change, with the vision of establishing a just and a peaceful society.
Nurses from our community are contributing much in the health sector of Delhi. The life of our youth in Delhi is, somehow, miserable and also needs urgent care. DSYM also incorporate the initiatives taken by other like-minded Individuals/Organizations on issues of mutual concern. Its major activities are to conduct programmes like - Life Skill up-gradation, Counseling, Career guidance, Job placement assistance, legal assistance, Corner group meetings, Training, Workshops, Seminars, Conferences, Conventions, Celebrations of days of importance, Marriage bureau, Providing accommodation facilities.
DSYM has many positive examples were it played a vital role to save many lives those were in the need of medical care and other emergencies. We are also having many social, charitable activities in Delhi. We reach the poor by way of visit, counseling, medical support etc. We also serve food, clothes and shelter for the needy one. DSYM is committed to make a concerted effort to address issues such as communal harmony and employment in order to safeguard the interests of Women, Slum areas and Vulnerable sections of society and to ensure a just and peaceful world.
